I found a mortgage company online that says they can help people with low credit scores and low down payments to buy a house, they sent me an application but the thing is it says i have to pay $69 to submit the application, is this a normal practice? am i just out this money if they end up not being able to approve me for the home loan? i just wanna make sure this isnt some kind of scam, it seems like a reputable company but im not sure, any thoughts?

It seems that when I call to inquire about these good deals (for example, really low rates with 0 points), I am always told something like, “Well, that deal is for something else.” How does one get an accurate mortgage quote online from these sites? Or is it impossible to get an accurate quote without calling the companies directly?

I filed bankruptcy about 4 years ago and my credit has been raising slowly. I pulled my credit report and found two medical collections against me that were not mine. I contacted the proper people and they agreed to remove them. Only one was removed and I have been trying for 6 months to get the other off. I have a letter stating they both were to be removed, but when applying for a mortgage online they pull my credit report and see a collection against me.
My debt to income ratio is pretty low so I sould qualify for a home purchase loan, but I have been turned down by my credit union.
Who offers home loans for people with credit problems?

I paid my mortgage online on the 31st of last month. So it was late, but not 30 days late. I was checking my bank account online, an the payment had not gone through yet. I had printed out my reciept, like I always do, and I realized i pressed ‘print’ but not ‘submit’. So my payment was never taken out!! Before I figured it out, I called my mortgage company and asked them to look into why my account was not debited. They will call me back tomorrow, and I will explain what happened. Can they change it? I am trying to pay everything on time, as my credit is poor from being stupid in my college years.
