Is it safe to apply for an online payday loan?

online loans
Mariah B asked:

They ask you to fill out your social security number, and your checking account number online. Can this be trusted? I want to get a payday loan, but am I putting myself at risk for identity theft?

  1. Yes, you certainly are. If you really, really have to go to a payday loan place than go in person. Those places are shady enough… and be prepared to pay, when they take on all of their service charges and stuff like to be paying almost 50-75$ on a 500$ loan in two weeks.

Try and go for a bank or get a line of credit.

  2. Payday loans are not the greatest…..but if you haved to i would NOT go online, to many things can go wrong.. check your local yellow pages if you are really desperate also… try to avoid getting a big loan remember you haved to pay it back plus hefty interest

  3. DON’T DO IT WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!! I will tell you my story with online pay day loan. I got the loan everything was going well until i was late with a defferal payment. Then the whole arrangement was off I explained to the company and they allowd me to set up a payment plan. Cool I though! Then out of the blue all these companies were taking money out of my account. 35 to 45 dollars at a time two or three times a week. It turns out online payday loan stores sell your information including access to your account. I endedup paying 300 dollars out for a 150. I finally closed my account and they are still telling me I owe them money. BE VERY CAREFUL. Once they get your information they can do what they want with it. My advice don’t do it! i learned the hard way!!!!

  4. best to go in person to one in town.

besides, these people aren’t there to be nice to you, they are there to hit your up for 300% of your loan- MOB loan sharking was cheaper.

When you go online for loans, it completely shuts you out of a way to involve your state attorney should things not be right, because it may be the outfit is in russia, bahamas, rhodesia, or someother untouchable place. once they nail you credit report, you may never get a negative resolved and removed.

  5. Don’t ever give information like that over the internet. That’s just asking to be scammed.

If you apply for a pay day loan, you get stuck in the cycle. Avoid it at all costs. Start a savings account — even $2 a week is better than nothing. Surely you can scrape some money off your budget… have you done a budget? Keep groceries to bare essentials, take 3 minute showers, switch off lights, and walk rather than drive, if possible.

Avoid getting a payday loan at all costs. Don’t get one. IT’s a bad idea. You will live to regret it for years.

  6. NO, don’t do it on line. Go the Amscot or some other place in person. There are way to many spoof sites that will use that information for other purposes. It’s not worth the risk.

I’ve bookmarked this site to go back to…

    All the best to you.

  7. Payday loans are not a good way to get a loan but if you want to do it, I suggest not doing it online. Especially there are hackers and identity theft going on cause you’re putting your personal info on there.. Try looking for a payday lending in your area so you can be face to face with someone.
