I recently checked my student loan online and there is 2 other schools loans?
nacha asked:
I have called student aide and explained to them that I never attended those schools but they just keep passing me to different departments. I am trying to fix my credit and this is affecting me even with my taxes. Does anyone know any website where I can dispute this or a phone number.

If someone has stolen your identity you need to report it right away to the three main credit bureaus.
Experian, toll-free 1-888-397-3742;
Equifax, toll-free 1-800-685-1111;
TransUnion, toll-free 1-877-322-8228;

What website did you use to check your loan information? If you didn’t use the US Department of Education website,, you should start there. (You’ll need your federal PIN to access this site…PIN can be obtained at.) This website lists all loans, your current balance and, most importantly, the schools where they say you borrowed as well as the current holder of the loans. You will need to call the aid offices at the schools you didn’t attend as well as the lenders holding those loans and inform them that you did not borrow them.
If you still aren’t satisfied after talking to these folks, contact the US Department of Education Ombudsman’s office at. There are there to help with loan issues.

If you are in the US you need to dispute it with the credit bureau, then the schools (or loan holders) will have 30 days to respond. If they do not, it will be removed. If they do you will be able to ask for the papers that you signed to get the loans.
However, if you are victim of identity theft it may take A LOT to get it removed. Unfortunately the laws are on the side of the banks/business rather than the citizen because it is hard to prove that you AREN’T the person… You might have to get the police involved.
Good luck!
